Ahh, the holidays. With Thanksgiving 2018 done and gone, our Christmas countdown is on. For us, the holidays start with Halloween and the party doesn’t seem to stop until a few days before my birthday (1/3 if you’re wondering ;)). So, hello party season. Let’s get this thing going.
I’ll be sharing my favorite holiday gift picks and ideas right here. So, stay tuned. All literary-themed in one way or another. Back in the bookstore days, I did 95 percent of the buying for our store. I have lots of fun ideas already in the hopper to share with you! And am excited to do so!!!
So, let’s start with a list of cozy picture books to put in a basket under the Christmas tree. When my kids were wee ones (they still sort of are -at 8 and 11), this was the place to be – under the tree reading a wintry book. I’d pick these books up at thrift stores, bookstores, and on Amazon.
Here are just a few of my recommendations. I’ll possibly add more to this list once we retrieve our Christmas decor boxes out of the garage in a week or so (as I store most of these books in these boxes after Christmas is over so they seem new and magical each year.) This list is also a great way to get a start on a book a day advent countdown if that’s something you’re thinking of doing. (I’ve always thought about doing the advent book countdown, but just never have, probably never will at this point but it’s a really sweet idea.)
Sweet Wintry and Holiday Books for the Wee Ones
So there you have it. A good start for you, I hope. Will be back with more in the days to come :)!
