An afternoon free to read and write. – that would be quite dreamy. Most days, I’m afraid, are not quite like that. But, most days are equally good as I tend to my people and animals at our home in Truckee, Ca.
I’m a book fiend as you can read here. And this blog is my new way of sharing my literary ups and downs. If you’re looking for a blog or online source for up-to-date book reviews and in-depth literary or publishing coverage, well this is not the place. Here, you’ll find one woman (me) – former bookseller, school librarian, gluttonous reader, mama, teacher, writer – wax on about books and other written works as they intersect daily life.
Without literature, life is hell.
READING MAKES YOU WELL AGAIN
Amazingly, shockingly I have not read “Little Paris Bookshop” by Nina George although 90 percent of our customers did. But, I do know that in that novel there is a man who calls his bookstore a “literary apothecary.” I didn’t necessarily come up with the title of my blog via that book or that character. I actually just love the word apothecary and the way it rolls off the tongue when combined with “literary,” and it fairly well sums up what my blog is: a compendium (of sorts) of literary contemplations that will perhaps cure what ails your feverish mind (or some such thing).
So, let’s read together and converse and feel better! xoxo Nicolle
